Recovering industrial demand trickles down to Des Plaines high-tech machine rebuilder and distributor

Des Plaines machine tool manufacturer Iverson and Co. Inc. has weathered several downturns in its nearly 80 years in business. But 2009 was much worse, as the machine tool industry saw a 70 percent drop in demand in January 2009. Yet, due to a jump in orders from customers such as Caterpillar and Harley Davidson, by the end of the year the company was able to meet its sales target for 2009 and is now considering rehiring laid-off employees.
