Pawlenty compares administration to Tiger Woods, voters to scorned wife - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) on Friday told voters to follow the lead of Tiger Woods's wife Elin Nordegren and "take a 9 iron and smash the window out of big government."

Pawlenty, who is considered as 2012 presidential contender, made the comparison during his speech before right-wing activists at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington.

Woods, the world's best golfer, is scheduled on Friday at 11 a.m. to deliver his first media remarks since it was revealed he had multiple extramarital affairs.

Pawlenty specifically referenced rumors that Elin used a 9-iron club to break the back window of Woods's car after he crashed it late at night, triggering the unraveling of his personal life.

"Tiger Woods is holding a press conference at 11 o'clock this morning. I think we can learn a lot from that situation," he said.

Speaking about Nordegren, he said, "She said enough. She said no more. I think we should take a page out of her book. We should take a 9 iron and smash the window out of big government in this country."

At his press conference Friday, Woods denied other rumors that his wife used a 9 iron to strike him. He said that no incident of domestic violence has ever occurred in his marriage.

Rachel Maddow is right, if PBO is able to position upcoming elections as a choice between himself and the teabaggers, which now includes the current Repub party leadership in Congress and the Statehouses he wins. The right is mistaking the loonies with the voters who wanted change, did not get in in PBO's first year, and voted for change again, in the most recent elections. Scott Brown, distanced himself from teabaggers who are intense but not going to win the majority of voters, in any election. The majority of American voters aren't insane, extreme or nihilistic. Oh yeah, Pawlenty wasn't even subtle in linking Tiger and PBO. WTF, are there any sane Repubs left?
