Mitchell: Fathers' gang ties putting their kids at risk

There are too many other young fathers like Brown and McQueen whose gang ties put their families at risk.

Yet we desperately need these fathers to play a visible role in raising their offspring.

The real challenge is finding ways to redirect them so their presence in their children's lives is the blessing it should be, rather than the curse it can become.
