More mobile marketing for fundraising ideas

Hi, All:
Just completed another webinar and thought I'd share some ideas, discussed:

about 1 hour ago

The presenter was Michael Ahern, ILoop Mobile who discussed:

  • Some of the reasons you might be considering mobile marketing (MM): Flat & declining marketing budget; more fragmented consumer/donor base; decreased effectiveness of direct and email marketing; need for more and immediate measurement of marketing
  • MM value- easy to incorporate "call to action", integrates with traditional marketing, targeting, measurable, improves traditional print, web, etc

  • MM is exclusively opt-in approach, you can't buy a list; You must create campaign, list/data base, a call to action. Therefore there is no waste, every message is qualified-- you are sending right message to right person which produces higher rate of return; instantly respond-able

  • Range of options from Simple SMS campaigns like alerts, promos; to more sophisticated campaigns that do profile capture and segmented messaging; location-based geotargeting and pos redemption;
  • This is something a nonprofit could use in partnership with retailers and local businesses
  • Use SMS for direct promos; create sms opt-in groups that recieve weekly messages/alerts; different single vs dbl opt-in; bottom line is MM is increasing marketing ROI because it builds database to engage customers/donors via their most important device, which is always with them--- their mobile phone
  • Easy to integrate your website to use SMS keyword + shortcode opt-in campaign; and upgrade to more sophisticated CRM campaigns that create/capture campaigns more  info; Double opt-in needed when people sign-in via webpage or not via headset; coupons and special offers via sms turns mobile into coupon wallet; customer care & reminders that live in phone (which is always with them
  • MM extends/expands  your direct email campaign into your target customer/donor's most important device; turns mass email into target marketing; creates long-term relationships; mobile enabled email gets opened; MM open,conversion, redemption rates higher than email; provides rich on the go environment, possible to do dynamic messaging, insert crm names and data;mobile couponing and POS desired used by smartphone users; smart  coupons/alerts; use mobile for broadcast/out of home; catalog, social networking, telemarketing; future agumented reality, google googles
  • Phone carriers for nonprofit fundraising support 3rd parties like mobile giving foundation
