Share stories and help us understand YOUR issues and obstacles in your own community work. Maybe there's an APP FOR THAT!

    For more information, RSVP: 773-819-2053

    Facilitator: Tom Tresser

Tom Tresser was one of the organizers of the No Games Chicago campaign which argued that the bringing the 2016 Olympics here would’ve bankrupted the city, raised property tax bills, displaced people from their neighborhoods, destroyed Washington Park and basically privatized the city for seven years. He was the Green Party candidate for Cook County Board President in 2010. He teaches classes on public policy and civic engagement at Loyola University, DePaul University, the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is currently working on his 13th nonprofit enterprise, the CivicLab, a space for building tools that accelerate civic engagement and community improvement efforts. The first project from the Lab is a ward-by-ward investigation of the Tax Increment Finance (TIF) Program.
